Relais de Chhlong:
The Relais de Chhlong (pictured) is once again open to welcome visitors. Originally built as the district governor’s house during the French colonial-era, it first opened as a boutique hotel about a decade ago before closing for a long period. Now the renovations are complete, its 10 comfortable suites await guests in this atmospheric place to stay on the banks of the mighty Mekong River, about 35km south of Kratie town.

Sahaa Beach Resort:
The first boutique hotel to open on the Otres 1 near Sihanoukville, this stands out from the crowd. The property has 26 rooms, including some connecting family rooms and even a suite with a private pool. The restaurant and lobby are artfully decorated and set the scene for a relaxing stay. The bungalows and villas are set amid a lush garden with the central feature of a swimming pool. Just across the track lies Otres Beach, one of the most beautiful stretches of sand on the mainland. It is well located for the local restaurants and bars in the Otres area and it’s an easy base for day trips to nearby islands and water-based activities.

Le Bokor Palace:
This colonial-era hotel has been restored by Sokha Hotels. After extensive renovations, Le Bokor Palace has just reopened in early 2018 and includes 36 luxurious rooms and suites and two restaurants. Originally dating from 1925, it was a playground for royalty, colonials and adventurers during the 1960s, but has been abandoned since the civil war and Khmer Rouge regime in the 1970s. Perched on a cliff at the top of Bokor Mountain, this historical hotel commands breathtaking views of what the French once called the Opal Coast. Thanks to its height of 1000m, it is notably cooler on the plateau of Bokor, usually 10 °C cooler than the lowlands and the reason why the French colonial authorities chose it as the location for a hill station.

Following hot on the heels of the Rosewood Phnom Penh opening comes the Rosewood Luang Prabang, albeit in a completely different style. Set outside town along the river in a dense forest, this is more like a luxury jungle camp than a typical Rosewood, but then there is no such thing as a typical Rosewood. The resort includes 22 luxury tents and villa, featuring Lao and French colonial furnishings, accents of locally inspired artwork, and their own private dining areas and wrap-around decks. The indulgent set-up will also combine a bar and bistro providing French and Lao cuisine.

Located on the banks of the Mekong River, about 10 minutes outside Luang Prabang, it is the perfect place to experience the beauty and serenity of nature. The Rosewood Luang Prabang opened yesterday.
